pumpkin bars

Gather the ingredients.....
Hire a small helper to watch over them while they bake.....

Enjoy! (not only do they taste great, they also make the whole house smell wonderful!)

Pumpkin Bars:

4 eggs

2 C sugar

2 C flour

2 C pumpkin (one can)

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp cinnamon

1 C oil

Bake at 350 for 25 minutes

(Whole batch= one jellyroll or two 9x13 pans; 1/2 batch= one 9x13 pan)
Frosting:3 oz cream cheese

6 tbs margarine

1 tsp milk

1 tsp vanilla

1 3/4 C powder sugar

Cream butter and cream cheese first- Spread frosting over cooled bars

Baby Bear turns ONE!

One year ago- I went to the hospital to have a C-section because of a stubborn little baby who was stuck in the breech position. Her personality hasn't changed at all, she is still stubborn. :) Maddie (or, as Grace calls her, Baby Bear) makes our lives so much more fulfilled. She is always in a great mood, is the best sleeper, loves her big sister, the dog, her friends, and dances anytime she hears a tune (including the KCRG news theme music). She is going to be our little talker, she is always babbling and has a long list of words she can say already. She loves to cuddle and sucks her thumb so much that she doesn't really have a thumb nail anymore. Her favorite toys are the TV remote, mommy's cell phone, and baby dolls. She has been standing on her own since she was 8 months old, but just decided to take her first steps 2 days before her actual birthday (an example of her stubbornness). We love you Maddie Moo! Nicks speech was a hit, He talked about how he knew Sara was going to stick around when she started replacing him on family vacations. He told funny stories from when they were younger, I think he had the whole room laughing....

Youngest brother Jareds speech was also a hit, he talked about how he shared a room with Tony and had the privilege of snooping through his things, he even pulled out some of the "love notes" that Sara and Tony had wrote to each other back in highschool.

It was a yucky day, but that didnt stop them from getting some great outdoor pics!
